2022 Farming Season Launched; Improved seeds distributed to Farmers.

Governor Lele L'Afrique Adolphe on Thursday 17th of March presided at the official launching of the 2022 farming season and distribution of improved farm inputs to farmers of the Northwest Region.

In his welcome note, the Director General of MIDENO emphasized on the importance of the distribution exercise; aimed mostly at improving production and productivity in the Agricultural sector, and encouraged farmers to effectively plant the inputs. He said
"At a time when the Region is running a risk of food insecurity, which is a manifest consequence of the ongoing crises, I therefore urge you all to ensure these seeds are effectively planted"

The Governor on his part lauded the efforts of MIDENO and its Projects for always ensuring that farmers are given the necessary support during the planting season. The Governor also encouraged farmers to invest in agriculture as it is a noble and rewarding profession for the economy.
The farmers representive on her part thanked the Managment of MIDENO for the inputs consisting 12 tons of improved maize seeds,agro chemicals and fertilizers, and used the event to express some challenges farmers face on the field;
The scarcity of table birds, price hikes on fertilizer and other inputs, bad roads,etc she said are major setbacks in production. She beckoned the Govrrnment through MIDENO Management to ensure that the worries of farmers are addressed so as to have a boost in the Agricultural sector in the Region.

The event that held at the MIDENO explanade also witnessed the presence of Dignatories like the Independent Conciliator, General Manager of UNVDA, CDENO, the SDO for Mezam, Mayors and Delegates.
